Wall panels VULCANO Larch carbonized
Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, Europe was also volcanic land. As I said, that was a long time ago and the volcanoes are all extinct. We use an ancient charring technology similar to a Japanese tradition "Shou-Sugi-Ban" or "Yakisugi" to char our native larch into a charcoal-black wood of inimitable elegance. Traditionally, only Japanese cedar wood was used in this production of controlled burnt wood. Today, other woods such as larch, red cedar, fir, pine or oak are also used in Europe. The charring of the outer layer preserves the wood by forming a natural protection against fungi and vermin. As black as the board is, the play of colours of the light reflections on the richly structured wood in crocodile leather look is as varied and appealing. That's what we simply call: Fire away!
