The tree has a height up to about 30 m and a usable length up to 20 m knotless, diameter up to about 100 cm.

Characteristics and wood colour

The wood is scattered-porous. Vessels without specific arrangement, grouped. The sapwood is narrow and yellowish, while the heartwood is brownish red, decoratively streaked with darker, partly black veins.
